The recent move to recall Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau from the Senate has hit a brick wall as political groups unanimously passes a vote of confidence on the lawmaker.
The unfolding plans which began shortly after the 2023 general election saw the incumbent senator publicly criticized in his northern senatorial district by some politicians who accused him of being biased and under-performance since 2017 followed the sack of former senator Danladi Sani Abubakar by an Appellant Court.
However in reaction to that recall, a political movement from the zone known as “PDP loyal group 100%” led by its coordinator, Hon. Obed Ibrahim Loh, described the purported recall on sen. Shuaibu is laughable and a handwork of mediocrities.
According to him, the calculated attempt by selfish politicians in the northern district was to distract the attention of the law-maker from impacting the dividend of democracy to the people thereby portraying him negatively before the public.
Hon. Obed in their submission said the essence of the briefing was to inform the whole world that entire PDP loyal group of Taraba northern senatorial district have unanimously and without prejudice have passed vote of confidence on Sen. Shuaibu Isa Lau who represent the zone and also to inform all well-meaning Tarabans particularly PDP stakeholders of all levels and Nigerians as a whole of their support.
The group, while soliciting support to rally round the senator for his good representation, urged detractors to remain calm as a comprehensive record of achievements of Sen. Shuaibu from 2017 to date will be made public in the next 30 days. “This is time for governance and our political leaders need solidarity from the electorates without primordial sentiments of ethnicity or religion”.
The group further called on all and sundry to key into Governor Agbu Kefas Agenda of moving the state forward.
In their contributions, the northern zonal coordinator, hon. Dallas Edwards Gurabi and the secretary, PDP 100% loyal group, comdr. Emmanuel Christopher Yinwana (FNY) respectively attributed the evil purported recall on Sen. Shuaibu as the handwork of enemies in progress.
According to them, the senator has impacted lots of meaningful developments ranges from rural electrification, scholarship schemes, distribution of food items, farm implements/fertilizers and assorted women empowerments schemes among numerous achievements within period under review and urged detractors to be calm as score card of the senator will soon be on a public domain.
