A senior member of the renowned Sodje sporting family from Delta State, Bright Sodje, has enjoined the Super Eagles to improve on their relative success at the recently concluded AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire to quality for the 2026 World Cup finals.

The Mundial is to be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. Sodje, whose younger brothers Efe and Sam had featured for the Super Eagles was a rugby player in UK.

He advised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to build on the success of the Eagles at the 34th edition of AFCON where they reached the final before losing to the host in a pulsating encounter.

The senior Sodje expressed delight on the Nigerian team’s remarkable improvement on FIFA rankings where they are now listed among the top 30 teams in the world and number three in Africa.

Sodje further advised the NFF to organize quality matches for the Eagles as well as exposing them to qualify marketing and branding.
With these, Mr Sodje who is based in UK, is confident that the Eagles will not only rule Africa but the world as a whole in a foreseeable future.
