The Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa, Dr. Bobby J. Moroe has played host to a delegation from His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, the spiritual leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star at the Embassy in Abuja.
The team of four emissaries was led by Justice Osai Ahiakwo, a lawyer and diplomat.
The team bore a message of peace, unity, universal brotherhood and need for African states to imbibe tolerance and promotes their forgiveness amongst themselves.
Part of the message from the spiritual leader said, “The people of the Republic of South Africa should shun discrimination as The Holy Father’s teachings destro the barriers of racism and seal the cleavages of religion in unity and love of the human family.
“Brotherhood of the Cross and Star has established schools, orphanage homes, corporate organizations, spiritual hospitals and charity institutions which dot all over the world. BCS render free social services to the vulnerable and those in need; providing affordable and quality education to those who ordinarily would not have access to these social amenities.”
The Ambassador said he was overwhelmed by the visit, saying it has helped to unify the two peoples of both countries.
He noted that with delight that it was the first time in five years that he has been in Nigeria, that a faith-based organization was visiting them with divine message aimed at consolidating the brotherhood between both countries.
“There is much space in the world to accommodate everybody. Regardless the numerous differences, humanity must thrive to co-exist in peace.
“South Africa and Nigeria must come together for mutual benefits as the two nations with the highest economy in Africa.
“The political challenges are different. Racism in South Africa is only seen when the struggle is between the whites and the blacks, unlike Nigeria where ethnicity displays a dominant role in electioneering process.”
On behalf of the President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Bobby J. Moroe received the Written Message from emissaries, including a compilation of the teaching of the Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, called The Everlasting Gospel Volume 1.
The Ambassador promised to pay a visit to the spiritual leader soon in Calabar.
