Sultan condoles with families of Akanbi, Aboderin

The President General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, has extolled the virtues of the pioneer Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices (and other related offences) Commission (ICPC), Justice Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi and Chairman of the Punch newspaper, Mr. Wale Aboderin.
The Sultan made the remarks in condolences sent on his behalf by the Secretary-General of NSCIA, Professor Is-haq Oloyede and its Deputy Secretary-General, Professor Salisu Shehu.
According to him, if it were possible to alter the programme of the immortal creator, Aboderin’s demise would have been averted noting that he proved to be a rare manager of human and material resources.
Also, Abubakar III and the entire Muslim Ummah in the country condole with the management of Punch newspaper and commiserate with the family to bear the agony of Wale’s death.
The Sultan also said the demise of Justice Akanbi was a further confirmation that death is a leveler of mankind.
Abubakar III said: “With an unblemished conscience, while alive, Justice Akanbi stood out vertically in the midst of his horizontal colleagues either as a lawyer or as a judge or a crusader against corruption.”
