Taraba bomb casualty climbs to 30 as Speaker Kunini, member Bukuni condemn attack

There have been conflicting casualty figures from the bomb blast that rocked a relaxation spot in Iware, a prominent cattle market settlement in Ardo Kola Local Government of Taraba State.
The bomb on Tuesday claimed many lives with others with various degrees of injuries.
While the Police said the number of deaths rose from three to six, an eye witness who trade in small animals in the village claimed those killed were up to thirty.
Danladi Talus Jalala, who said he was very close to the incident said he saw about thirty corpses.
The bomb was suspected to have been planted by a duo who came to the local beer as costumers and ordered for a drink after sitting at vantage position to execute their plans.
After planting the bomb, one of them was said to have immediately left the joint and after few minutes the second person followed and shortly afterwards the bomb exploded.
However one of the suspected criminals was said to have been traced and lynched by an angry mob while the other is still at large.
Just over a month ago, a Church in Mutum Biyu headquarters of Gassol Local Government was bombed.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Professor Joseph Albasu Kunini, has condemned in strong terms the bomb blast that rocked Iware market.
In a statement by his Chief of Staff, Sukuji Bakoji, the Speaker made the condemnation on Wednesday, during plenary session.
He described the dastardly act by the faceless people as bestial and inhuman, considering the fact that the state has enjoyed relative peace.
Professor Kunini decried that the disdainful and dastardly act by the miscreants came at the time when the State Government has been doing everything humanly possible for peace to reign in the State and ensure security of lives and property of the people.
Against this backdrop, he urged the security agencies to brace up to tackle the ugly trend head on, because the State, hitherto described as the most peaceful in the North East geopolitical Zone, cannot afford to witness the carnage and new wave of terrorism.
He further called on the people to be vigilant and conscious of those they relate with, as well as report suspicious persons to the appropriate authorities, especially with the commencement of the electioneering campaigns.
He, therefore, condoled Ardo Kola local government area, the District Head of Iware and the State government on the ugly incident.
also, Member representing Ardo Kola Local Government at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Dominic Bukuni has condemned the bomb explosion that occurred in Iware community on Tuesday.
In a press statement issued in Jalingo, the legislator called on the state government to beef up security of the community the state at large to forestall future reoccurrence.
He urged government to liaise with the security to ensure identifying the perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to book.
Bukuni condole with the family of those who lost their love ones and equally sympathize with those injured in the incident and caution them against taking the laws in to their hands.
He, however, urged the residents to watch out against bad elements and report suspicious characters to security agents.
