Taraba Governor, Ishaku says he won’t leave money for successor as he exits next year

Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku says he will not leave any money in the coffers of state when he exists government next yesr.

Governor Ishaku made the remarks while receiving former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Gregory Obi who was at the Government House, Jalingo to canvass for votes from PDP delegates in Taraba State towards the actualization of his presidential aspiration under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Obi had in his bid to convince the delegates said after his eight years in Office as Governor he left over N75 billion in local and foreign currencies while vacating office.

Obi further stated that he left office without leaving any loan, no backlog of salaries, pension and gratuity in the State proclaiming that the is no Governor in Nigeria dead or alive left N75 billion in the coffers of his State.

In reaction to this statement, Governor Ishaku said because he is owing he can’t leave anything while vacating office. In the words of the former Anambra State Governor “Nigeria must shift from consumer to a productive nation for it to prosper.

He described Nigeria as s failed State at the moment the Government at the center has no grip over the economy and prosperity of the nation always waking up with bad news of rampant killings, kidnappings and all sorts of crimes due to the failure of leadership.

Obi maintained “that the men and women we refused to train are now turning back to fight us”.

He observed that “over one hundred million Nigerians are living in abject poverty, nothing is working in the country majority of Nigerians cannot feed themselves and the debt profile of is increasing on daily basis”.

The presidential aspirant cited India Japan, China and other countries for coming out of the woods through good and inclusive governance which he will perfect if given the mandate urging the delegates to help bring Nigeria out of its present predicaments.

In his remarks, Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku described Peter Gregory Obi ss a rare gem seperating the grain from the shaft a rare gem that can differentiate between the black and white saying the difference between the aspirant and the others is very clear.

Earlier, the Director General Peter Obi campaign Organization, Doyin Okupe said the presidential aspirant is the right person to be president of Nigeria because of his track records and asked Nigerians to give him the mandate.
