Taraba Governor Kefas presents N492.9bn 2025 budget appropriation to state assembly

A total sum of N429,898,968,402.31 has been estimated by Taraba State Government for 2025 fiscal year.
The State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas presented the budget estimates to the house of assembly on Monday.
He said the budget represents 39.9% recurrent expenditure, as capital expenditure is expected to grip 61% of the total budget sum.
The 2025 estimates christened “Budget of transformation”, the governor disclosed, reflects the blueprint of his administration, which aims at transforming the state in terms of infrastructure and creating an atmosphere where people can explore available opportunities for growth.
According to him, the 2024 budget estimates recorded 46.7% implementation rate, assuring that mechanisms have been put in place to ensure improved budget performance in the year ahead.
Kefas also disclosed that priority will be given to development of education, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, agriculture, security, ecotourism and strengthening governance among others.
Earlier, speaker of the house of assembly Rt. honourable Kizito Bonzana enumerated the significant improvement and progress recorded in the period under review which included security, education, human capital development, worker’s welfare and infrastructural rehabilitation.
The speaker described the 2024 budget performance as fair, and assured that the house will work tirelessly to ensure quickbpassage of the budget without compromising on thoroughness.
