Taraba Governor Kefas signs into law bill establishing rotational First Class Chief of Takum

Governor of Taraba State Dr. Agbu Kefas has signed into Law the bill seeking for the establishment of a rotational First Class Chief of Takum in the state and appointment of three third class chiefs in the area to represent the Jukun, Chamba and the Kuteb.

Assenting to the bill in Takum before the members of the State House of Assembly Dr. Kefas said the Law is in the interest of peace and development of the state.

He commended the Members of the State House of Assembly for critically doing justice to the Bill.

The Deputy Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Hamman Adama said the bill has gone through all the legislative processes and based on the bill, the First class stool of Takum which has been vacant for decades will be rotated among the Kuteb, Chamba, and Jukun and also three third class chiefs will be appointed for the three tribes which will contribute significantly to the development of Taraba state.
