Taraba National Orientation Agency director urges embrace of petroleum downstream deregulation

Taraba residents have been admonished to embrace the federal government policy on the deregulation of the petroleum downstream sector.
The state Director National Orientation Agency, (NOA) Mbakiye Bitrus Nyama who said this in a press briefing in his office said the federal government is not insensitive to the sufferings of the people.
Nyama stated that the deregulation policy will no doubt open up the petroleum sector to healthy competition can be encouraged and prices can reflect market realities.
He mentioned benefits of the policy to include that the influx of foreign investors which will no doubt create job opportunities and infrastructural development, adding investment in modular refineries will be encouraged which will make the products more available.
Speaking further, the director NOA said the deregulation policy will discourage smuggling subsidized PMS to other countries which has been one of the problems of fuel scarcity.
Mbakiye urged the public to support the deregulation policy by the Federal Government to enhance economic growth in Nigeria and for a better tomorrow.
