Taraba NLC chairman felicitates with Christians, urges prayers for Governor Kefas, others

By Celestine Ihejirika, Jalingo

Christians have been called upon to intensify prayers for Governor Agbu Kefas, Taraba State and the nation as a whole while celebrating Easter.

Chairman, Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC), Comr. Peter Jediel stated this on Sunday shortly after the church service to commemorate the 2025 Easter Celebration.

While he expressed gratitude to God for observing this year’s Easter celebration, urged Tarabans, particularly civil servants, to make it a point of duty to commit the governor and the state to the hands of God for continued rapid development.

Comr. Jediel, who called on Christians to move closer to God, described the period as sober reflection, highlighting challenges facing Nigeria and her people to include insecurity, hardship, hunger, unemployment, to mention but a few.

The state labour boss cautioned civil servants against unnecessary trips during the Yetide period, reflecting high cost of transportation and insecurity in the land as issues to the given second thoughts, he stated.

On the importance of Easter, Comrade Peter Jediel emphasized temptations Christ went through the cross to redeem mankind and therefore encourage believers to look upto him for salvation.

He also appreciated security agents in the state for being proactive, noting that throughout the period of Eid-El-Fitr of Muslim Ummah to the current Easter celebration, the state witnessed a relative peace, urging them to sustain the tempo.

The chairman reminded workers of the need to go back to duty post as the holidays were coming to an end, urging them not to take the magnanimity of the governor’s love for civil servants in the state for granted.
