Taraba SWAN pledges paying WAEC fees son of late Chairman Jalingo

Taraba State Chapter of Sports Writer’s Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has pledged to pay both the Junior and Senior WAEC fees of Sadiq kabiru Usman, the youngest son of its late former Chairman, Kabiru Usman Jalingo.
The incumbent Chairman SWAN in the State Sani Sulaiman who announced the gesture when he led the executives of the association on a condolence visit to the residence of the family in Jalingo said out of the six children Kabiru left behind, Sadiq happened to be very closed to the father during his life time and the youngest and expressed the readiness of the association to encourage him.
The Chairman described the passing away of his predecessor as a huge loss, saying that the demised of Jalingo has created a huge vacuum that could hardly be filled.
Suleiman said the condolences received from colleagues across Nigeria and beyond has indicated the cordial working relationship Jalingo had with people and prayed Allah to repose his soul and give the family, friends and colleagues the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding on behalf of the family, the General Manager of ROCK FM, a
Private Radio Station in Jalingo, Hajiya Jummai Rakiya Hamzat commended SWAN for the good gesture describing it as magnanimous to the the entire family.
Jummai explained that Jalingo was a veteran sports writer even in his days as a young reporter which led him into SWAN leadership and thanked body for the condolences pledging that the relationship between Jalingo’s family and SWAN will be sustained.
The Association presented some food items and beverages to the family.
Prayers were also offered for the reposed of the soul of the deceased.
Meanwhile, a three day Fidda’u prayers were said at the residence of the deceased by Islamic scholars.
Before his demise, Jalingo, a seasoned journalist was a Senior Editor with the Taraba State Broadcasting Services, (TSBS) Jalingo who has worked in various beats.
