Tears as St. Vincent Catholic Church, Uke in Nasarawa acts Passion play

Many observers of the annual catholic passion play on good Friday were spotted shading tears as Saint Vincent Catholic, Birnin Gbagyi at Uke Bus stop of Karshi Development Area of Karu Local Government Council reenacted the death of Jesus Christ in a Passion play.
Our correspondent who was on ground to monitor the occasion reports that hundreds of Catholic faithful were seen accompanying the dipicted Christ who was carrying a cross on his shoulders and being beaten by soldiers.
Speaking on the significance of the day, the church chairman, Mr Longinus Anawo, said the reason for the passion play especially by catholic faithful was to remind them of the agonies Christ Jesus went through for the redemption of man from sin.
He further said “this is a moment of sober reflection to all Christians, especially we the Catholic during this lentern period.
“As you can see, we are all out remembering ourselves of what Christ did for the redemption of our sins.This is an annual event and we are not just doing it but reminding ourselves of who we are, followers of Christ and all His deeds,” he said.
Mr Longinus used the occasion to also remind christians worldwide to remain focus and not to waver, admonishing them to be steadfast in their faith and pray for the Gods intervention especially now that the country is going through tough insecurity challenges.
Contributing, Mr Emmanuel Paul Peter who acted as one of the soldiers said the significant of the day being a Good Friday can not be over emphasised,adding that it goes a long way to remind christians of the sacrifices of Christ for man kind.
Apex News Exclusive also report that it was moody moment beholding the procession, as residents of Uke Bus stop were seen folding hands and some shading tears,while the make belief Mary Magdalene wiped out tears from Jesus face, with the soldiers flogging Him repeatedly.
