President Bola Tinubu has appointed Major-General Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd) as new Secretary of Civil Defense, Immigration and Prisons Service Board, (CDIPSB).
- Major General Abdulmalik Jibril, retired voluntarily after attaining 35 years in service in 2010.
- He is an indigine of Kano, born in 1954 in Kano and grew up in Kaduna.
- He attended Sultan Bello Primary School, Ansarul Islam Grammar School in Ijomo-Oro, Kwara State, and Sheikh Sabah, -later renamed- Sardauna Memorial College, Kaduna.
- He was enlisted in Nigerian Defence Academy in 1974 as a regular cadet on Course 17, commissioned into the Infantry Corps in 1977 as a second lieutenant.
- He secured admission to read Law at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and after graduated, he applied to change corps from infantry to military police.
- He was Aide De Camp, (ADC) to Late Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
- He has three masters degrees: 1 in Criminology in the University of Kil in the United Kingdom. 2. Masters in Law from the same University and 3. MBA from Bristol University campus in Pakistan.
- He was Military Attache in Nigeria High Commission in Pakistan.
- He was Chairman Presidential Think Tank Committee on Defence and Security, PTTDS. And Director of Security and Intelligence at the All Progressive Congress, Presidential Campaign Council, APC-PCC in 2023.
- He is the incumbent Chairman of Nigerian Legion.
