It is no longer news that the once powerful Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Plateau state, Letep Dabang is facing a suspension, but the intriguing fact is the suspension may end up in serious interrogation.
Dabang who was handed a vote of no confidence from the CWC of the party in the state, was alleged to have shocked the leader of the party in the state who is also the governor, Barrister Simon Lalong to the effect that he single handedly made decisions that were binding on the party without the imput of the governor.
The state which is heading to the local government elections, saw the party Chairman taking some drastic measures to the embarrassment of party faithful who were unanimous in shoving him away to assure supporters of the party’s credibility, a source hinted.
Though it is no longer news that Dabang who is also making moves to succeed the governor, has been “making crafty maneuvers ” to perfect his plans to achieving his 2023 desire.
The undisclosed source also revealed that governor Lalong was astonished when he learnt that the party’s plans for the electorates was being kept away from him, as the chairman was allegedly taking advantage of his position to better his chances for 2023.
For example, our source was emphatic when he disclosed that ” even before the party primaries for the election, the party Chairman has a list that would emerged at the end of the day
“This was so because he had all the, while operated the party secretariat as an individual, a situation the executive members of the party were no longer comfortable with”
It was further gathered that the instead of carrying loyal party members along, he was in the habit of “inviting aliens to meetings; ignoring party EXCO in decision making “
Though, the former party Chairman had accepted the suspension in good fate pending the investigation team by the national secretariat, Dabang is said to be hiding “several skeletons that when finally unearth, would put an end to his political career if care wasn’t taken”, reliable sources hinted.
