Water Brooks Pathway Schools, Kafanchan in Kaduna State celebrated its 11th year anniversary with a poignant event focusing on the critical theme of child protection. Mrs. Grace Yohanna Abbin, Manager of Salama Sexual Assault Referral Center, delivered a compelling message, highlighting the special role families play in ensuring the safety of children.
Mrs. Abbin emphasized the importance of listening to children and understanding their experiences.
She called for a proactive approach to recognize and identify the challenges children may be facing, both at home and in school.
Mrs. Abbin urged children to assertively say “no” to indecent touching, not just within the school premises but also at home and in public spaces.
She emphasized the need for children to be vigilant and report any attempts to lure them into unsafe situations.
As part of the commemorative event, a panel discussion unfolded, bringing together representatives from parents, teachers, students, and the facilitator.
