A lawyer who also champions widows’ as well as communities’ rights, Mrs Imah Nsa Adegoke has again declarie for the PDP governorship ticket to be elected as governor of the state next year.

She said she will bring commitment and passion to bear in her governance by ensuring that everyone feels the positive impact of government.

In Calabar where she spoke with reporters, Adegoke, a former Labour Party governorship candidate in 2011, said that this is the time to shift the paradigm away from the status quo, saying she is not the alternative but the actual choice.

Adegoke from Creek Town in Odukpani LGA is the second female to declare aspiration for the Cross River 2023 governorship race.

Narrating the reasons that has forced her to throw her hat into the ring for the race despite the heavy costs, Adegoke emphasised that there has been a lot decline in the system both at state and federal levels, and that women like her, should rise to aim at changing the narratives and restore hope.

She told journalists that she can not be intimidated by the other big names and money bags that have since declared, saying she is out to make impact and win because the widows, the mother’s, the youths and others are yearning for her.

She said she has very good knowledge of the state having traversed it in the course of her widows’ rights advocacy and quite understands the pains and plights of the people

“I dare add that I do not present myself as one who has a desk top knowledge of our beloved state. I have travelled the entire 18 LGAs and ha e solid proof of how prosperous we can become if we only harness our wealth for the benefit of ourselves and not just a few rich persons.

“My vision is to shift the cycle of injustice and inequity in the governance of our state using it as an example of what Nigeria can again become if the proper parameters of injustice, equity and rightness are once more enshrined as the fulcrum of social engineering…”
