The 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League Season ended Sunday with matches played across different centres Nationwide including the match
at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi when Wikki Tourists FC defeated Katsina United by 2 goals to 0 in one of the matches that attracted large spectators.
Fu’ad Ekelejuoti scored one of the fastest goals of the season when in 2minutes of the start of the game he headed home the opening goal from an assist by Sunday Haruna to put Wikki Tourists ahead.
The early goal shrouded Katsina United’s morale and Wikki Tourists continued to bombarded them with attacks while their goaltender made frantic saves.
After the restart of the second half, both teams changed strategies when they made some substitutions.
82 minutes into the second half, Wikki Tourists got its second goal through Sale Ibrahim who benefitted from a Cross by Sunday Haruna to easily finish sealing the victory.
During the post Match Interview, Coach Kabiru Dogo of Wikki Tourists FC said that, “We thank God for the Victory and a successful end of the Season” .
The Gaffer added that, “It has not been easy but the journey has been worth while and we have to also thank the state government, Management, Supporters and all other stakeholders” .
“Our Target was to stabilize the team and finish in a comfortable position which we have done,next is to sit down and X- Ray our performance and plan for next Season”, Dogo concludes.
