Yar’adua loses APC Katsina Central Senatorial primaries

A brother to former late President Umaru Yar’adua, Colonel Abdul-Aziz Yar’adua (rtd) has lost the primaries for Katsina State Central Senatorial Primary under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He lost to a former Managing Director of Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Mr Kabir Barkiya.
Barkiya also defeated Sen. Ibrahim Ida and Senator Umar Ibrahim Kurfi.
The Chairman of the Senatorial Election Committee, Dr Isal Adamu, announced the result on Wednesday in Katsina.
He said Barkiya scored 1,466 votes, Yar’adua with 913 votes and Ida had 897 votes.
