The Emir of Yauri in Kebbi State, Dr Zayyanu Abdullahi has urged political office holders to consider their appointments as veritable tools for socioeconomic development in the society.
He stated this at a reception organised in honour of the Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, SSG Kebbi State, Yakubu Bala Tafida and six others held at Yauri Town Hall in Yauri Local Government Area.
The Royal father described the appointment as an achievement that would bring rapid growth and development of not only Yauri Emirate but also the state and nation at large.
The Emir went further to say “Now we have a Minister, SSG, Permanent Secretary, members House of Assembly, Special Advisers and Commissioners, as such we have every reason to thank God Almighty. All we pray is unity among all members of the emirate irrespective of ethnicity, tribe or political leaning in order to take Yauri, Kebbi State and the Nation to greater heghts.”
In his remarks, the Minister of State for Education Dr. Sununu thanked the Emir and the entire people of Yauri Emirate for organising the reception in their honour, describing the gesture as recognition of their role in nation building.
He promised that he would never disappoint the Emirate and his people as a Minister of the Federal Republic, assuring that he would discharge his duties diligently towards bringing positive growth and development to the educational sector and the nation at large.
The reception which was organised by Yauri Emirate Council in collaboration with Yauri Emirate Development Association was aimed at fostering unity and enhancing cordial relationship amongst the people of the area.
