10th National Assembly: Senator Wadada leads, sponsors 10 bills in one year

Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District at the Senate has once again demonstrated his remarkable commitment and dexterity to serve his constituents, Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

Going by the latest edition of the OrderPaper, an official publication of the National Assembly released on Wednesday, Senator Wadada excelled beyond measure in discharging his primary responsibility of making laws for the good governance of the people, aside oversight and representation.

The OrderPaper showed that out of a total number of 1,650 bills sponsored in the 10th National Assembly in one year, eight lawmakers representing Nasarawa State account for 32 bills only, with Senator Wadada accounting for 10 of the bills.

According to OrderPaper’s detailed analysis of bills processed between June 2023 and May 2024, the three senators representing the state account for 15 of the 475 bills sponsored in the Senate, and in the House of Representatives, five members from the state’s seventeen.

Senator Godiya Akwashiki representing Nasarawa North Senatorial District, who is a second termer, accounted for one bill only, while Senator Wadada representing Nasarawa West and Senator Mohammed Onawo representing Nasarawa South (a newbie) sponsored ten and four bills respectively.

In the House of Representatives, Rep Jeremiah Umaru representing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba (a newbie) recorded nine bills which places him ahead of Jonathan Gbwefi Gaza representing Kokona/Keffi/Karu, a third termer with record of five bills.

Rep Dahiru Sarki representing Lafia/Obi, also a third termer, recorded zero bill. Hassan Nalaraba representing Awe/Doma/Keana accounted for three bills while Ari Mohammed representing Nasarawa/Toto recorded one bill.
