16 days activism against gender-based violence ends on high in Bauchi

As the sixteen days Activism on campaign against gender based violence ends Friday, the Bauchi state Action Committee on Sexual and Gender based violence have resolved to continue to amplify its voice against any form of violence against the vulnerable

Chairperson of the committee and wife of the Deputy Governor Hajia Aisha Baba Tella made this known while addressing stakeholders at government House on Friday.

Hajia Aisha Baba Tella maintained that they will also keep pushing for gender equality as they join the world in waging the war against all forms of violence against women and Children.

She added that ending the global pandemic against women can start with transforming social norms and adopting inclusive approaches to tackle the root causes.

Representative of persons with disability Ilia Ismail advocated that the campaign be turned into Gender and Disability based violence to cater for their concern as more vulnerable to abuse.

According to him the issue of the violence is more devastating in connection with persons with disability especially those with visual and hearing impairment as reporting their cases is many times difficult with.
