APC members who decamped to the PDP

No fewer than 20,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have dumped the party for what they described as bad leadership and cluelessness of the party towards the 2023 General elections.
The former members of the PDP therefore pitched their political tents with the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP,) which is in power in Bauchi State.
The decampees were formally received into the PDP on Saturday by the Special Assistant, Political Affairs to Bauchi state Governor, Sen Bala Mohammmed, Alhaji Musajo Buba.
Musajo Buba described the defection of the party including key stakeholders from APC in the State as an indication of PDP’s predominance of the political space of the state.
He explained that the decampees have appreciated the good workings and dividends of democracy provided in the state by the PDP led administration thereby persuading them to join the party.
The Special Assistant assured both the new and new members of a sense of belonging in the party, and charged PDP supporters and stakeholders to embrace and integrate the decampees back to the fold.
Speaking on behalf of decampees, a Stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress, Bala Mato Zungur said that they have left the APC because the party has failed them.
According to him, “All along, we were in APC, unfortunately, the party has disappointed us with nothing to show but suffering and lack of internal democracy.”
He also said that, “We came to the PDP because we appreciated what the Governor is doing in terms of infrastructure, roads , hospitals, education empowerment among others.”
Bala Mato said that, “The decampees you see in this place have worked and supported APC for over 8 years ,but the party seems to be going astray without bearing , we have finally returned to PDP to move the state forward,”.
He explained that in each of the 20 local government areas,”we have nothing less than 1000 APC members that returned to the PDP.”
He then appealed to the Governor and the leadership of the PDP to protect the interest of all the decampees in all the 20 local government areas assuring that PDP will win the general elections in all the elective positions in the state including the presidential elections.
