Team Nasarawa athelete, Ihuo Louisa has on Tuesday won first the first medal for the state, a bronze, at the 2020 National Sports Festival holding in Benin City, Edo State in the women’s Taekwondo-49kg category.
Louisa defeated her Delta State counterpart, Sekinat Adebayo to clinch the medal.
Our correspondent reports that team Nasarawa is participating in the ongoing Sports Festival which began on April 2, 2021 after suffering series of postponements in the past owing to the outbreak of the global Coronavirus pandemic.
With a 210-member contingent on the trip, Nasarawa State is participating in 25 sporting events, 24 of which are individual sports while Basketball, the women’s category, is the only team sport.
