2023: APC’ll regain power in Bauchi – Senator Misau declares, It’s figment of your imagination, no party can beat PDP – Zainabari, PDP PRO replies
By Akanji Alowolodu, Bauchi
Though 2023 is two years away, the polity that will shape the year is gradually taking shape as the two leading political parties the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State are at each other’s throat about what will happen.
The APC which is in opposition in the state has vowed to wrestle power from the PDP which it accused of running a family and friends administration in the state just as the PDP responded that the APC is still suffering from the humiliation of defeat of 2019.
Former Senator Isah Muhammad Misau while speaking exclusively to our correspondent on Sunday said that, “we have seen what is happening in Bauchi state, the government is for family members, friends and cronies of the Governor. That was not what we bargained for in 2019 when we teamed up to bring him to power”.
But reacting to the allegation, PDP Publicity Secretary, Yayanuwa Zainabari said that, “if he said so, he was right. Bala Mohammed is an indigene of Bauchi, born in Alkaleri, raised in Katagum, resident in Bauchi town, you can see that he belongs to everyone in the state including Isa Muhammad Misau. Therefore, he must carry everybody along in the scheme of things”.
Misau also alleged that the PDP administration cannot point to any project in the last two years opining that most of the ongoing projects were started by the APC but Zainabari reacted saying, “that is simply put, dance of shame. In two years, what we have done is much than what they claimed to have done in 4 years”.
While Misau expressed confidence that the APC will defeat the PDP come 2023 because according to him, the PDP has failed the people, Zainabari said that, “it is the figment of his imagination, with what the PDP has done in just a few years, 2023 is a finished project for the party”.
While the former Senator called on members of the APC to come out for revalidation of their membership while new members should go get registered, PDP PRO called on the people of the state to continue to support the PDP led administration as it continues to serve them.
