2023: Assistant Inspector General of Police cautions personnel to be non-partisan

The Assistant Inspector General of Police for zone six Calabar, AIG Okunlola Kola Kamaldeen has cautioned police personnel not to be partisan in political issues even as next year’s general approaches.
He has also charged officers to be duty conscious in order to sustain the peace and serene nature of Cross River State and other unit states.
Kamaldeen made the charge in a statement released by the zone six PPRO, Nelson Okpabi in Calabar, after he carried out a working tour of Cross River State Command.
He had lectured officers and men of the Command during the tour to be disciplined and alert always.
“I also want to encourage you to be civil to members of the public and respect their Human Rights,
“I call on you to be non- partisan in political issues and be neutral in all ways possible.
“While being non-partisan, be fair and value-neutral in handling of cases brought to you.”
The AIG had also interfaced with royal fathers, members of PCRC as well as Eminent persons, and Stakeholders.
He urged them to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies, embrace citizens-base community policing of the IGP to check insecurity in the society.
