Bulus Iliya, APC state assembly candidate
By Akanji Alowolodo, Bauchi
Bulus Iliya, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Bogoro State House of Assembly seat in the 2023 General elections has declared that he is not afraid of the power of an incumbency which he said does not have any influence in the area.
The candidate confidently said that his chances of winning the election are very bright because of his track records of helping the less privileged and vulnerable in the society.
Fielding questions from Journalists during one of his outreaches in Bogoro, Bulus Iliya said that, “My party, APC has campaigned vigorously and is still going from door to door to mobilize the people on the need to vote for all the party’s candidates in the area.”
Bulus Iliya who was a former aide to Ex-Speaker, House of representatives, Yakubu Dogara said that he believes that his good works to the society will give him an edge to win the election, stressing that he is not intimidated by other opponents.
According to him, “My chances to win this elections are very bright, I am one hundred percent confident because of my track- records are there for people to see for themselves.”
He added that, “I have never held any public office before, although I was a one time Special Adviser to Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
The APC candidate however debunked the insinuations making the rounds in the state that his political mentor, Yakubu Dogara is now fully in the PDP because of his support for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
According to him, “before he declared his support for Atiku Abubakar, I was with him. He is only supporting Atiku’s presidential ambition and not that he left the APC, he is still in the APC. So as far as I am concerned, I am aspiring under the APC and I am 100 percent in the APC”.
He then urged people of the area who registered to ensure that they collected their PVCs to avoid the situation where unknown persons may collect their cards for electoral malpractice.
Bulus Iliya stressed that without their PVCs , they will not be able to vote on the day of the election which may negatively affect outcome of the election.
