Considering their numerical strength in the country, it has been assured that come 2023 general elections, women will spring surprises by wrestling vital political powers from the men.
The declaration was made by An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Gombe State, Mrs Finney David who said that women will come out stronger to contest elective positions in the 2023 elections to show the men they are equal to political leadership.

Finney while speaking in an interview with a group of correspondents in Gombe on Monday, said that women had for a long time been deprived of their rightful place in the leadership and political spheres of the country but that they have plans to massively aspire many political positions across the country.
The Jakkadiya Waja who is also a Governing Board Member of National Gallery Of Arts Abuja, an agency under the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture as well as Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology Ibadan, Oyo State encouraged women to be bold to aspire.
According to her, “I see an increase in women participation in elective offices even better than they did in 2019, from House of Assembly to NASS and even more  Governorship candidates will be picking women as their running mates. That will ginger women and youth voters to vote for such tickets.
“Campaigns for 2023 will be issue based, purpose driven and not on lies and propaganda and am sure, women will be given more opportunities to be tested in positions of authority”, she stressed.
She however gave kudos to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya for considering women in their appointments but called for the involvement of more women in leadership roles.
She said, women are known to be good managers in the home front as such, if given leadership positions, they will make positive impact in the society.
According to her, “there is no how a woman will be empowered without her considering her home, neighbours, immediate community, the State and even the nation at large”.
Finney David said that, “women are naturally sympathetic to situations and they don’t like seeing people suffering. That is something God has imbued in us”.
She added that, “Women are naturally multipliers of good things, for instance, look at conception, as little and tiny the male sperm is, when it gets to the woman, she takes it and gives it life, nurture it and that’s the nature of women created by God.
The politician further said that, “So, the reason why we are not seeing positive impact in our society is because women are not well empowered especially decision making positions”.
