2023 General Election: Adamawa electoral commission denies discriminatory registration

Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has denies the allegations in discriminatory registration of voters in the ongoing continuous voters registration (CVR).
In a release tagged “Re-Allegations on Discriminatory Registration of Voters” the release was signed by Ali Atuman the Deputy Director and Head of Department for the Honourable Resident Electoral Commissioner, Kashim Gaidam, INEC says, “it is indeed unfortunate that as the CVR is taking place in the state office centre at Galadima Aminu Way Jimeta-Yola and all the twenty one local government area offices and is opened to all qualified residents.
According to the release, stressed that in the non-discriminatory effort to give residents who are located far away from these centers equal opportunities, the CVR has been devolved to registration areas/wards and going on rotational basis at designated centres across the state.
INEC noted that, “It is necessary to correct the wrong impression about our processes, and hereby request that the people and organizations making the allegations should mention LGA offices and staff involved in the unwholesome acts”.
INEC is calling on well-meaning stakeholders to remain vigilant and to report with details any incident or incidents of violations of the CVR Guidelines.
It would recalled that, INEC who boasted that no online registration carried out in the central senatorial zone, but these are, “Free Online Continuous Voter Registration locations (CVL)” in Song LGA, has Gadon Digital production near Cottage hospital in Song.
In Girei LGA has Diamond Face studio, along Mubi road, wuro hausa after green bridge, Hong LGA has Excellent computers opposite Matty chemist, while Gombi LGA, with its registration in Tafikama press Tashan marghi, opposite Tilly bread.
Also in Yola North LGA has its registration at KBD Logistic 28, Wukari street, Demsawo Jimeta, and Yola south LGA with Kings Grafix Production shop number 124 Modibbo Adamawa.
Our reporter reports that the documents made available, has it’s logo, EGI OAYASTECH Nig. Ltd. and only those recommended for a particular party before registration and all with contact numbers of the LGAs.
