All primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ended in a limbo in Taraba State.

From Governoontorial, National and State Assembly the story is the same. On Thursday May 26th, 2022, while the Gubernatorial primaries of the party went on smoothly in most parts of the Country, six of the aspirants of the exalted seat in Taraba State ended up in the Headquarters of the State Police Command in Jalingo. The six aspirants Professor Sani Yahaya, the imediate past Minister of Power Engr. Sale Mamman, David Sabo Kente DSK, Doctor Anthony Manzo, Senator Yusuf A.Yusuf and Danladi Kifasi were challenging the the the Committee posted from Abuja to conduct the primaries Chaired by Laurence Onochukwu for trying to impose an aspirant over them. They said the Committee presented a photocopy of a ready made result sheet aledging that the original copy could have been use to declare the said anointed aspirant of the primary election Committee while in reality no election was conducted in any part of the State at that time. It took members of the Committee and the six agriefed Governorship aspirants long hours in the office of the Commissioner of Police in Taraba State Abimbola Shokoya after which the Chairman of the primary Election Committee Laurence Onochukwu addressed the press and confirmed that no election was conducted in all parts of Taraba State. But surprisingly the following day Friday morning Onochukwu on his way back to Abuja at the Jalingo Airport invited a section of the press and declared Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the winner of the APC Governotorial primaries before boarding a chattered flight waiting for him back to Abuja. The senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly Primaries also ended up in Crises. Just like the Gubernatorial primaries the primaries for the various legislative arms also ended up at the Police headquarters in Jalingo where after Long hours of heated argument between members of the Primary Election Committee and majority of the Senatorial and House of Representatives aspirants in the instance of the Police Commissioner in Taraba State Chairman of the Commimittee Mohammed Alkali declared that there was no election conducted in Taraba State. In the same vein, on Sunday May 29th, 2022 when the House of Assembly Primaries of the Party is going on well in many parts of the Country aspirants of the party in Taraba State are crying fault about the members of the Primary Election Committee posted to the State. Spokes man of the aspirants Barrister Shittu Mohammed of Nguroje Constituency in Ssrdauna Local Government aledged that members of the primary Election and Appeal Committees from the National Headquarters of the Party were in the State but they were no where to found to sit with them and know how to go about the whole exercise saying that they are in a fix. Shittu Mohamned expressed worry that what is happening in the APC particularly in Taraba State will jeopardize the chances of the party in 2023 genaral elections. What is happening in the APC in Taraba State is reminiscence of what happened in 2019 in the State. It could be recalled that during the primary election of the party that year a former acting , Governorship y of the State Senator Sani Abubakar Danladi was declared winner in a similar way after a botched attempt to collate results of a primary election that was not hold at the Fast track Hotel Jalingo where political thugs invaded the venue threw stones at every object forcing every one to ran for his dear life. Sani Abubakar Danladi contested and lost the election to Governor Darius Dickson lshsku. What going to happen next in Taraba State and in the APC State and it chances of winning elections in the State only time will tell but in reality the APC is in real turmoil.
