A support group for Labour Party’s presidential candidate for next year’s election, Peter Obi Integrity Network for Transformation (POINT) has dispersed its members into local wards and streets to educate members of the public the difference in their logo, so that the electorate can easily distinguish.

Coordinator of POINT in Cross River State, Etom Ofem disclosed this to news men in the state capital, Calabar.

He said they needed to embark on the education exercise because many, especially those in the hinterlands and elderly seem not to know much about the party and its logo.

“Compare with the other party which has been active before their arrival, many don’t know much about labour Party or its logo.

“We thought it was very important to begin the education now and from local communities to really let our people know and identify the LP logo since it would be on the ballot papers.

“We need to let our people know that LP is a family party or that it is for the family. We need to reach them the slogan of LP, which is ‘Mama, Papa and Pikin’. With picture of a family our supporters that will vote for is will easily identify”, he said.

A key member of the group, Precious Arikpo maintained that the group has a lot of work to do.

“It’s not just by talking but by action. As the infantry in the army is very important, so is the Ward. I charge you all to go out and educate people about LP logo and the candidates.

“We should take this campaign to our churches, business places ,offices, markets, and even farms. We all know that people are so familiar with APC and PDP but not LP. Let’s make it a duty and a responsibility to join in this campaign education”, to called.
