A group, Norrhern Youth For Renew Nigeria, has called on the National Working Committee and the Presidential candidate of the PDP, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to consider Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as running mate.
In a statement signed by the Yobe State Assistant Publicity of the PDP, Idriss Najeb, which was made available to newsman, started that, the combination of Atiku and Wike will not only unite the party, but also go a long way in ensuring that the PDP returns to power in 2023.
According to the statement, “ We, members of the PDP support group congratulate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for winning the race and we congratulate Governor Nyesom Wike for making such incredible waves and impressive impact in a first attempt for the presidency.
He said our presidential candidate cultivated a nationwide network of friendships but now, he needs to unite every cleavage and every individual within the party in order to win the 2023 presidential race.
They also, urger the incumbent governor Wike to accept the offer would be given to him as a running mate for president Atiku Abubakar ” what I can tell you is that, Atiku Abubakar is interested in making a choice that will first unite the party as we go into elections.
He said following Governor Nyesom Wike’s show of bravery and commitment to change the political status quo, the Rivers State governor deserves to assume the number one political Leader in Southern part of the country.
Ambassador Najib, described Wike as “the lion of the southern region who dare to successfully challenge the Northern political oligarchy who hitherto had the feeling that they can step on politicians from the southern region with ease.
“We particularly noticed that throughout his nationwide campaign/consultation with his party members, Governor Wike never spoke with fear, he was often addressing the issues at stake with pure honesty.” he suppose to be runmate for Atiku 2023.
“Henceforth, we will recommend that Governor Wike should be honourably addressed as the Political Leader of the Southern Region of Nigeria. He has done enough to earn the title.
He well-deserved recognition of ‘Political Leader of Southern Nigeria’ title because, according to them, he is a man that means well for Southern Nigeria.
He added that the PDP leader will sustain infrastructural strides, economic reforms and other remarkable legacies of the president. He has a quality to be vice president of the federal republic of Nigeria.
“I believe that Wike will offer an open doors policy and I will keep to the promises to be made in the course of our electioneering campaign coming soon in all the geopolitical zones of the country. I pledge to support his initiative according to his experiences in economic sectors, security, fighting against corruption, poverty elevation and others.
