The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria has invited the Presidential Candidate of
Labour Party to speak on the national unity of Nigeria, and arrays of other issues besetting the country.
Obi is to speak at the church headquarters at the Hope Waddell Parish, Calabar on Saturday 13 August 2022.
In a letter signed by the Principal Clerk of General Assembly of PCN, Rev. Miracle Ajah, Obi is invited as special guest of honour to the opening ceremony of the 25th General Assembly of Church where they are to celebrate their 176 years in the country.
Ajah said as the General Assembly is the apex body of the church that meets biennially as a symbol of unity and decision-making, Obi is expected to use the forum to speak on The Royal Priesthood, Nigeria’s unity, the church and other trending issues which are building up to next year’s general election.
“In addition to your esteemed presence, we will be glad to receive your goodwill message to the Church and your brief Manifesto for seeking the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Other dignitaries invitees to equally speak include Alex Oti and Ibe Okwara Osonwa.
Ajah said, “This year, PCN is
celebrating 176 years of Christian witness in Nigeria, and the Church will be electing a new Moderator of General Assembly (Prelate), and the Deputy Clerk.”
