2023 presidency: Atiku is our candidate – Northern students declare, endorse his apprenticeship youth programme for development

Though he has not publicly declared his interest to contest the presidency in the 2023 general elections, the umbrella body of students of Northern Nigeria extraction, Association of Northern Nigerian Students (ANNS) has come out to endorse a former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar as a presidential candidate.
The endorsement was made on Thursday by the Association during at a press conference addressed by its National Vice President, Comrade Sani Adamu held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Tomb, Bauchi.
According to him, the idea to endorse Atiku Abubakar for the exalted seat was in consideration of his good political manifesto which he said has made him relevant in the country’s political climate over the years.
He also hailed Atiku Abubakar’s national apprenticeship program in his 2019 policy document that proposes the training of one million youths and women every year on different skills.
“The association sses Atiku as a bridge builder, strategist per excellent and person with the best mind in terms of practical ideas in youth development and nation building”. He said.
Sani Adamu who claimed that there are 12.1 million students of Northern extraction in the country promised to embark on massive mobilization of them on the need to register and vote in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
He however decried that in the past elections, the turnout of students to vote was low promising that as an influential association, ANNS will be in the forefront and vanguards of entrenching democracy, development and education in the nation.
