In a powerful and coordinated show of political resolve, women from across Nasarawa State have declared their total and unwavering support for Distinguished Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu as the preferred successor to Governor Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule come 2027. Their declaration was delivered at Government House Lafia when the group paid a courtesy visit to the Governor. The leader of the group known as the “Voice for the Common Women Foundation” Mrs. Lois Samuel Audu with clarity and conviction, reflects not mere sentiment but a carefully considered position rooted in continuity, competence, and compassion for the people.

Speaking under a united platform, the women affirmed that the leadership trajectory of Nasarawa State must not be disrupted. According to them, the remarkable developmental strides recorded under Governor A. A. Sule require a successor who understands governance, appreciates stability, and possesses the political maturity to consolidate gains already made. In their assessment, Senator Ahmed Wadada stands out as that bridge between the present achievements and a more prosperous future.

The women further extended their collective endorsement to Honourable Mairo Musa, whom they described as a capable and credible candidate for the House of Representatives representing Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency in 2027. They stressed that her candidacy symbolizes not confrontation but constructive inclusion, insisting that women deserve greater representation in the political architecture of Nasarawa State.

In the same vein, the delegation declared their support for Engineer A. A. Sule to represent the Northern Senatorial Zone at the National Assembly, underscoring their belief that his experience, integrity, and track record of service remain valuable to both the state and the nation. To them, leadership is about deploying competence where it is most impactful.

Perhaps the most resounding message came from women of the Western Senatorial Zone, who unequivocally stated that the next Governor of Nasarawa State must be Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu. In what many described as a dramatic and emphatic declaration, they called on other aspirants to shelve personal ambitions and rally behind a unifying candidate capable of winning and governing effectively.

Addressing the gathering, the leader of the delegation’s legal team declared that, in the court of public opinion, the 2027 governorship contest is already taking shape, with Senator Wadada emerging as the people’s choice. She boldly asserted that Government House has no vacancy for experimentation, but only room for prepared leadership anchored on experience and empathy.

The women praised Governor A. A. Sule for laying a solid foundation of development, peace, and institutional reforms. They acknowledged that while his achievements are numerous, his compassion for widows, women, children, and other vulnerable groups stands out as one of the most defining hallmarks of his administration.

Quoting the age-old maxim that service to humanity is service to God, the women commended the Governor’s people-oriented governance style, noting that his policies have touched lives across social strata. They described his leadership as humane, deliberate, and impactful — qualities they insist must not be lost after 2027.

In their words, continuity is the soul of development. They argued that Nasarawa State is at a critical juncture where sustaining existing projects and policies is more important than changing direction. For them, Senator Wadada embodies continuity with capacity — a leader who understands the present and is prepared for the future.

The women highlighted a troubling statistic in the state’s political representation: out of 31 elected representatives across the National Assembly and State House of Assembly, only one is female. They clarified that their advocacy is not a challenge to natural order but a call for inclusive governance that recognizes the value women bring to leadership.

It is for this reason, they explained, that they are passionately supporting Honourable Mairo Musa, whom they believe has the competence, grassroots connection, and character to represent Karu, Keffi, and Kokona effectively at the National Assembly.

The delegation, which arrived at the Government House in three large coaster buses filled with women from different backgrounds, emphasized that their visit was also to express gratitude to Governor A. A. Sule for promoting policies that uplift women and protect the vulnerable. They described his administration as one that listens and responds.

Looking ahead, the women stressed that Nasarawa people are already asking a critical question: who will sustain and expand the impressive developmental strides recorded under the current administration? Their answer was clear and unanimous — Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu.

They described Senator Wadada as a stabilizing figure, a listener, and a leader who feels the pain of the people — one who has served, is serving, and will continue to serve with distinction. To them, his leadership promises not only continuity but accelerated development anchored on inclusiveness and experience.

In conclusion, the women affirmed that with Senator Wadada at the helm, Nasarawa State will witness deeper development, stronger institutions, and a more inclusive political space where women feel truly at home. Their message was simple yet profound: the future is clearer, the path is defined, and the choice is right.

Responding to their request, Governor Abdullahi Sule assured that he will do everything possible to ensure that his successor is the choice of the people.
