23,894 Borno students share N578m scholarship allownaces

Borno State Government has released the sum of N578,682,000 scholarship allowances to be shared to to a total of 23,894 Borno students undergoing PhD,Masters and undergraduate degree courses in different tertiary institutions in  Nigeria and  overseas.
Commissioner Higher Education, Prof. Isa Hussaini Marte, disclosed this during a stakeholders meeting in his office,  last  Tuesday in Maiduguri.
He said that about 23,776 students schooling in Nigeria and 118 foreign countries are already benefiting from the first batch of disbursement stressing that, the state scholarship board is making sure all payments are made into the beneficiaries bank accounts to ensure transparency and accountability.
It could be recalled that, Governor Babagana Zulum, had since  instructed that names of students for the first batch be listed and made public through various online and social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter handles of the Governor which enjoy favourable traffic of followers.
