25 Rotary Clubs in FCT embark on tree planting campaign

25 Rotary Clubs in and outside Abuja yesterday with strong will and determination to combat the heat waves in Gwagwalada Area Counci and encourage habit and attitudes of tree planting as Proposed by Hope President of Rotary International of Gwagwalada Rotary Club, Rotarian Ayodele Steven PHF came to reality yesterday, RC Gwagwalada played host to Rotary Clubs and our numerous partners as we show love to our community, planting 1000 trees in a single flag off ceremony along Nigeria Customs College Road, Gwagwalada.
This partnership was coordinated by the Office of the Zone 2 District 9125 Chair of Supporting the Environment bringing partnership from PurpleHands empowerment Initiative, FCTA Department of Parks and Garden, Forestry Department of Fed. Ministry of Environment and P. I . B Global Services, the producer of Biochar Tree organic fertilizers.
This even was graced by the number 1 traditional Ruler of Gwagwalada, His Royal Highness, the Aguma of Gwagwalada, the FCT Comptrollers of Nigeria Immigration and Correctional Services, Area Commander of NDLEA, Centre Director, National Open University of Nigeria, Faculty of Agriculture, Uniabuja and Department of Forestry, Gwagwalada Area , council and our numerous guests from all walks of life.
Representative of Rotary International District 9125 in Nigeria, the District Governor Nominee in her speech describes tree planting as spiritual and the benefits are medicinal, President of all Club Presidents in Abuja, Rotarian Agwu IJEOMA Joyce described tree planting as way of life, and giving back most deserving respect to the Environment for out better living.
The President, Rotary Club of Gwagwalada FCT, Rotarian Ayodele Steven while briefing the newsmen at the even expressed personal satisfaction on the success of the project, assuring of sustainability of the project and continuity for the benefits of our people.
