26 inmates further regain freedom in Adamawa – CJ

The Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahaman has freed twenty six inmates, granted bail to thirteen others and convicted six others in Yola town Correctional Centre through the Jail Delivery Committee.

The committee led by the state CJ to the Correctional Centre visit is aimed at decongesting the facilities.

The Correctional facility has a five hundred capacity but is currently accommodating four hundred and forty inmates as open out.

Also twenty four are inmates on death row and five others are lifers.

While addressing the beneficiaries during the exercise, Justice Hafsat said their cases are largely civil, were considered less serious hence the committees’ resolve to leverage on its prerogative of mercy to administer the adjudication.
