The Christ Natural Choristers Fellowship 34 Ambo Indigenous Choir has marked its 13th anniversary celebration with fanfare.

The one week celebration climaxed on Sunday 24th September 2023 with the grand launch of their maiden album.

Two of the major highlights of the 13th anniversary included the Open Kitchen where they cooked and shared foods, mostly rice and sauce, to members of the public in Calabar  as well as visitation to the Elderly Priests Quarters in Calabar.

They had held an interdenominational chorale where a guest choir from Methodist Episcopal Church in Calabar performed  and a workshop.

Both male and female members of the choir helped to share the food in ‘take away’ packs to less privileged members of the public who gladly received them.

Chairman of the Choir, Uke Izim said they pulled their resources together to organise the public outings in order to attract God’s blessings.

A woman who gave her name as Mrs Elizabeth Daniel said she happily collected some packs for herself and two children, thanking God for the unexpected gifts.

Chairman of the 13th anniversary celebration who led a visit to the Older Priests Quarters in Calabar, Stella Tabot made a passionate call for spirited individuals and groups to frequently remember the retired senior citizens.

She said people should show concern  by practically visiting and donating foods, disinfectants and medicines for their well being .

Tabot expressed sadness that less care and attention were paid to people who worked hard for today’s generation to benefit.

Stella was concerned that the older people now languish in loneliness, ailments, hunger and live in squalid conditions.

She said, “We know that singing praises to God alone as a choir is not sufficient without the practical sides of it.

“This is why we bought different food items, detergents etc, and visited the Old Priests Quarters in Calabar,  hoping that other groups should constantly do likewise to keep them alive.

“These older folks now need much attention and our love. They need regular individual and group visitations”, she stressed.
