Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has announced some changes in the State Executive Council.
According to the Governor, former Commissioner for Culture, Diaspora and Indigenous Artwork, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo is now the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Tertiary Education while Prof. Theresa Obiekezie, formerly the Commissioner for Tertiary Education is now the Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy.
Former Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, Hon. Afam Mbanefo now moves to the Transport Ministry.
Dr. Christian Madubuko, formerly the Commissioner for Transport is now the Commissioner for Culture, Diaspora and indigenous Artwork.
While congratulating the commissioners on their new portfolio, the Governor said the new appointments takes effect immediately.
A government source described the shakeup as expected and long overdue.
“This is indeed a welcome development. Some of us had expected this reshufflement before now because some of the Commissioners have not demonstrated capacity in their various potfolios.
“Infact, I had expected the Governor to have dropped some of the commissioners because of incompetence and may likely do that before the end of his administration.”
