64 independent anniversary: Police caution against violence, deploy personnel

The Adamawa State Police Command  have caution against violence ahead of Nigeria’s 64 independence anniversary on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

In a statement signed by the police spokesman SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said, the police said it interfaced with critical stakeholders aimed at discouraging the planned protests by faceless individuals or groups due to its consequence which may metermorphose into violence.

Adamawa state Police Command says, “It is a well known fact that chaos can lead to loss of lives and properties. Therefore, any violence protest especially by unidentified persons, is totally unacceptable.”

He noted that, the planned nationwide protest  has the potential to go wrong and be hijacked by miscreants.

It said “On the strength of this therefore, the Command urges all Citizens and Residents of Adamawa State to go about their lawful business and shun anything that will lead to harming themselves and others in the name of protest.”

In other to maintain peace and in the state, the Commissioner of Police, Notice Dankwambo assured the faceless plan protesters that his doors is always open for a healthy discussion and call on them to appropriately follow the laid down rules.

He said regarding every protest in Nigeria as the Police Command has drawn a security ring around them to prevent miscreants from hijacking the protest.
