No fewer than 9400 N-Power beneficiaries in three graduate programmes of N-Power including N-Teach, N-Health and N-Agro are currently receiving their posting letters in Anambra State.
The N-Power Volunteer Scheme is one of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programmes where unemployed graduates not more than 35 years old are engaged in various fields of work for two years with monthly stipends of N30000 each.
The programme which started in 2016 was initiated to address unemployment in the country.
Addressing the N-Agro coordinators at ADP office in Awka, the Deputy Focal Person Social Investment Programme, Lady Chinwe Iwuchukwu, enjoined them to effectively deploy the beneficiaries to their places of primary assignments on or before the deadline of Aug.10.
Lady Chinwe, a Senior Special Assistant to Anambra State Governor on Donor Agencies, commended the Governor for his moral and financial support to see that the state did not relent in playing their part for the success of the programme.
One of the beneficiaries, Ngozika Eziegbuna, thanked the Federal Government for the initiative and also the state government for their support, saying that most of them had been out of Job for more than seven years and pledged on behalf of others to utilise the opportunity given to them to achieve the purpose of the programme.
