God, from the time past was very mindful of who lead His people. I believe the reason why is because, He wanted the best for His people. The best spiritually, economically, to live in peace and to govern in truth and righteousness.
By so doing, in His quest to appointed himself a king, God always looked beyond the outer appearances of men, qualifications, experiences , economic status, fame and popularity. So God has the tendency of appointed the ones that seems unqualified in the eyes of men and qualified them in other to achieve His divine purpose. In other words, God in His wisdom created a pathway and set an example on how we should exercise our right to vote the right people as an act of a good citizens.
Therefore, the most suited qualifications for God to appoint himself a king is the HEART of a man.
1 Samuel 16:6-7
When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the LORD’s anointed stands here before the LORD.” But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
Nigeria is one of the most blessed nation on the face of the earth that has not been so lucky to chose good leaders in the past which in-turn devoid the country a good governance. In part, the masses have deliberately, consciously or unconsciously allowed corrupt politicians to brainwashed them, used them to win elections by all acts of fraud and turned around not only dumping them, but victimizing them. Moreover , I don’t always blame the politicians for their insensitive misconduct and corrupt practices because the masses are the ones given some of this corrupt politicians undeserved power to act stupidly; thinking that the masses need them more than they need the masses. The painful truth is that, in a well functioning and structural democratic settings that the citizens understand their civil rights and the power of their votes is that, no politicians can succeed without the approval of their citizens. So anyone that is interested in vying for a public offices must know that they need his people more than what they need them.
It is a high time for all Nigerians to come in terms with the reality that, in other to make a huge difference in our country that we love, we must make the right choices and vote the right people into public offices but not the popular parties, or succumb to the temptation of receiving an arm to enslaved themselves for a life time.
The most worrisome situation about Nigerians masses in particular, with the exception of the negligible few is that, they see political elites or politicians as gods and not only worshiping them but follow them to their graves if it comes to that not minding how incompetent and corrupt they maybe. Regrettably , these are the same politicians that keep oppressing them as long as they have the opportunity.
In the western world, the fate of any politicians are determined by the voters. The voters knows that their votes are their weapons and they cannot give it away casually or carelessly. It is in the western countries that voters would not vote for a family relatives because his or her policies are not convincing or good enough to bring the needed development to their communities .
It is in the western countries that voters would look into the eyes of any politicians and told them we would meet at the poling booth.
I think this is right mentality that Nigerians must embrace to vote the right candidates in various public offices in this election year if they do not want the afflictions to happen more than the second time again.
Nahum 1:9:9 What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
Nigerians, this is the golden opportunity to be part of change and make history for next generation unborn.
