Bauchi Guber: PDP, APC, NNPP others sign peace accord

Ahead of the gubernatorial and state house elections on Saturday 18th March, the gubernatorial candidates have today signed a peace accord for free, fair and credible elections in the State. 

The parties include the ruling party of the People Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressive Party (PDP), New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), People Redemption Party (PRP), Action Democratic Party (ADC) and Zeneth Labour Party (ZLP) respectively. 

Addressing the journalists shortly after signing the document at the state police command in Bauchi, the state Executive Governor, Bala Mohammed, Senator Halliru Dauda Jika, deputy governor, and other candidates, Shehu Aliyu Musa, Barrister Faruk Umar Gwadabe pledged to abide by the peace accord agreement before, during and after the elections in the State. 

Earlier in his speech, the Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Aminu Alhassan has commended the political parties for honouring the invitation by coming in person to the meeting. 

He said the main reason for the meeting was for the all political parties to come together and put down their signatures to ensure free, fair and peaceful polls ahead of the Saturdays election in the State. 

He said any political party’s and their supporters who found involve in such act would be deal with accordingly, inline with the agreement all the political parties endorsed. 

The meeting also witness the presence of all other security agencies comprising army, police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, Immigration, Custom respectively.
