Bauchi Police arrest 34 suspects for various criminal offences

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 34 suspects in connection with different offences such as; Culpable Homicide, Kidnapping and Disturbance of Public Peace just as it successfully rescued two kidnapped victims from the Kidnappers Den.
The disclosure was made by the Command PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili in a press statement he made available to Journalists in Bauchi on Thursday.
According to him, On the 26th March 2023 at about 0030hrs, Police Operatives attached to Zaki Divisional headquarters, received intelligence report indicating that on 25th March 2023 at about 2209hrs, unknown persons trespassed into the House of one, Abdu Muhammadu, aged 30 years of Dasare village, Tarbuwa ward, Zaki LGA and shot him with Bow and arrow on his chest, as a result, he sustained serious injury.
On receiving the Information, a team of Detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Azare for immediate medical treatment, where he was certified dead by the medical Doctor.
During the investigation, the Command arrested Sambo Adamu aged 22 years of the same address on the 30th March 2023 at about 1505hrs in connection with the case, and he voluntarily confessed his culpability.
Efforts have been intensified to explore more facts in the incident and arrest the remaining suspect as investigation is ongoing.

Also, for Criminal Conspiracy, Disturbance of Public Peace and Causing Grievous hurt, the Attention of the Command was drawn to an inter-group clash between thugs and thuggery groups (Sara-suka) in Azare, headquarters of Katagum LGA.
Following multiple complaints against the activities of Sara-suka who terrorized Azare residents, On the 2nd to 3rd April 2023, the Sara-suka group fell-out in an enormous attack on innocent citizens and looted some shops without any course.
On receiving the intelligence report, a team of operatives led by DPO, Azare swiftly swung into action and raided the clash point and arrested the following suspects in connection with the crime.
They are: Haruna Wada AKA (Dantalaka), age 21 years of Shatima Mustapha Quarters Azare; Abdullahi Usman AKA (Chilli), 25 years of Garin Arap Azare; Abdullahi Ahmed Makaho age 20 years of Shatima Mustapha Quarters Azare; Adamu Ahmed Makaho, Age 22 years of Shatima Mustapha Quarters, Azare; Ibrahim Alhaji Yayaji age 25 years of Shatima Mustapha Quarters Azare;
Mohammed Sani Stamina age 21 years of garin Arap Azare and Dauda Wada age 25 years of Shatima Mustapha Quarters Azare.
All the aforementioned suspects arrested will be charged to court to face the full wrath of the law while an effort is in progress to arrest their cohort who are at large.
For the offence of Criminal, Conspiracy, theft and thuggery, sequel to the directives of the Commissioner of Police against the backdrop of the security situation in the State, the Command is committed to ensuring the security of lives and property of citizens/residents within the State have intensified 24/7 round the clock; Patrols, guard duty and raids of identified black Spots to effectively checkmate crime and criminality in the state.
Consequently, the Command conducted a raid led by Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on some black spots and arrested seventeen thugs (Sara Suka) including their ring leaders.
Those arrested are; Usman Isah AKA (Aban Lare) 22 years of Tamil Nadu Bauchi Metropolis (Ring Leader); Zakari Mohammed AKA (Bodari) Bakin kura/Malam Goje; Ahmed Hussaini AKA(Abbati) 21 years of jahun street Bauchi; Ibrahim Garba Musa AKA (Garla) 22 years of Jahun Street and Nuraini Usman 27 years of kofaran Bauchi.
Also arrested are: Ziya’ul Hassan AKA (sarki) 25 years of Shekal Bauchi; Hassan Ladan AKA (Ashobe) of Wunti Dada Bauchi; Hussaini Ladan 24 years of wuntin Dada Bauchi; Adamu Mohammed AKA Yobe, 30 years of Wuntin Dada Bauchi; Ibrahim Rabiu AKA(BROS) 24 years of Dawaki ward Bauchi and Abubakar Moh’d AKA Shaho 18 years of Dawaki Ward Bauchi.
Others are: Nasiru Ali AKA (SULU) 24 years of Dawaki ward Bauchi; Abdullahi Ahmad AKA (Alhaji) 20 years of Nassarawa Bauchi; Jilabibi Moh’d 20 years of Baba Sidi Bauchi; Rufa’i Moh’d 24 years of Jahun Bauchi; Abdulrahman Adamu 18 years of jahun Bauchi and Aliyu Umar Ajiya 24 years of Yakubu wanna Bauchi.
Exhibits recovered from them included, 5 Cutlasses; 4 Knives; 2 Iron Mace. All suspects will be charged to court.
In another development, nine suspects were arrested involved in a Gang fight Between Birshin Fulani and Anguwan Kanawa, they are: Shamsudeen Haruna 18 of Anguwan Kanawa; Nazeef Hassan 17 years of Birshin Fulani; Yakubu Saidu 19 years of Birshin Fulani; Muazu Ali 18 years of Birshi Fulani; Usama Musa 19years of Birshin Fulani; Saddam Murtala 19 of Anguwan Kanawa; Abubakar Aliyu 18 years of Anguwan Kanawa; Murtala Haladu 20 years of Anguwan Kanawa and Ibrahim Haruna 17 anguwan Kanawa.
The Command also Arrested Suspected Kidnappers and Rescued kidnapped victims during the period under review as contained in the release.
On the 04th of April, 2023 at about 0915hrs information at the Command disposal indicated that a group of persons numbering 7 suspected to be kidnappers were sighted between Dass and Tafawa Balewa LGAs at Dutsen Maigoshi.
On receiving the information, a team of a joint task force led by the DPO swiftly swung into action at the scene, on sighting the Police, they engaged in gun dual and the Police smoked the area and successfully rescued two victims, namely;
Mohammed Jungudo and Maimuna Mohammadu all of Tafawa Balewa, unhurt.
During interrogation, the rescue victims recognized and identified 4 of the kidnappers as the following persons;
Korau Buba aged 56yrs of Burgel village, Tafawa-Balewa LGA; Sulaiman Adamu aged 33 years of Yangan village in Tafawa Balewa LGA; Haladu Abdullahi aged 35 years of Tudunwuss, Dass LGA and Ibrahim Adamu aged 20yrs of Bunjang village Dass LGA.
Consequently, a team of operatives were quickly drafted and hunted down the above-mentioned underworld group who confessed to having committed the crime, while investigation is in progress, after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution accordingly.
In another development, On the 29th March 2023 at about 1000hrs, Ado Sanya aged 40 years of Dallaji village, Tudun Wada ward, Warji LGA, reported at Warji Divisional Police Headquarters that on the same date at about 0120hrs, one Ibrahim Hashimu criminally trespassed into the farmland of one Mohammed Garba of the same address and stole some watermelon.
He was thereafter beaten with sticks by the following persons; Mohammad Daluta aged 24 years; Ibrahim Mahmud ‘m’ aged 22 years; Bashir Mahmud aged 18 years and Abdullahi Mahmud aged 22 years, all of the same address, as well tied his hands with rope.
On receiving the report, a team of detectives were quickly drafted to the scene and evacuated the victim to General Hospital, Warji for medical attention and referred them to Cottage Hospital Gwaram LGA, Jigawa State, where he was certified dead by the medical doctor.
An investigation commenced in earnest, preliminary investigation revealed that the victim “Ibrahim Hashimu” trespassed into a summer farm and stole 7 pieces of watermelon fruit valued at N2,000, in the process of taking away the stolen items, the owner of the farm caught him on the spot conspired with others and beat him with sticks, as a result, he sustained an internal injury which led to his death.
Consequently, all the above four suspects were successfully arrested and an investigation is still ongoing to explore all the intricacies surrounding the case.
While reacting to the ugly incident, the Commissioner of Police CP Aminu Alhassan, frowned at the action of the suspects, who instead of reporting the case to the Police for proper investigation and prosecution, took the law into their hands.
He, however, directed that the case be transferred to criminal investigation department (CID) Bauchi, for discreet investigation and assure members of the public that justice will be served accordingly.
