The governorship candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), in
the recently concluded election in Nasarawa State, Mr. Abdullahi
Maidoya-Yakubu has re-affirmed his commitment towards building a
united and peaceful state.

Maidoya, who gave the assurance while speaking in a popular Hausa programme titled ‘KaKa Sara Kaka’ of vision FM Abuja, losing the election will not deterred him from contributing his quota towards the
socio economic development of Nasarawa State as a successful business man.

The NNPP gubernatorial candidate, who made his first public statement
after the March 18, 2023 governorship election, added that the election was a huge success for him and his party as a new kid in the block.

His words: “I’m proud to say that this election is a success for me having contested for the first time and to God be the glory we have made history and most importantly the people of Nasarawa State now know what Maidoya can do and stand for, Alhamdulillah our party also produced two state house of Assembly members representing Toto/Gadabuke and Doma South respectively.”

He, however, alleged that religion and ethnic inclination was introduced into the state politics and called on religious leaders to be guided in order to safe guide the general interest of the people
for a peaceful and united Nasarawa State.

According to him, it is sad and very unfortunate that barely a week to
the election some religious leaders were induced financially by some politicians to play politics of religion signaling a danger if not checkmate and appreciated the role played by the Emir of Lafia and other traditional rulers towards ensuring a rancour free election.

The Nasarawa State NNPP gubernatorial candidate equally thanked the people of Nasarawa State for their support and peaceful conduct during and after the elections just as he called on Governor Abdullahi Sule to be magnanimous in victory.

He continued: “Yes I want to make it clear that whether the Governor decide to extend his hands of fellowship to the opposition’s or not I Abdullahi Maidoya-Yakubu will do everything possible to support the government to succeed especially in the area of industrialization
because as we speak I have arrangement with a reputable company that
is ready to invest in Lafia which about 1500 youths will be employed.”

He stressed that Nasarawa State belongs to all of them therefore all efforts will not be spared to bring development to their people considering the fact that this government to some extent has
disappointed the people of the state with less achievements to show and this explain why the governor is unpopular .

Mr. Maidoya-Yakubu used the medium to encourage youths to be bold and
courageous in taken positive decision that will shape their future politically a case study of himself who stand firmly in his ambition without minding the political big wigs in the state.
