7769 students to graduate from University of Calabar – Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Florence Obi has confirmed that as many as 7769 students will pass out of the institution this week.
She disclosed this at a press briefing on Monday ahead of the 35th convocation ceremony.
She explained that 5031 will pass out with first degrees while postgraduates are 2153.
Others are 171 who will be awarded diplomas and 413 to receive sandwich diplomas.
She disclosed further that out of the lots, 11 will be awarded first class, 899 will receive second class upper, 3396 second class lower but 519 will get PhD.
She stated that they will use the opportunity to hold a command performance for His Highness Ado Bayero who is to be installed as the 6th Chancellor of the tertiary institution.
Another highlight of the convocation ceremony will be the award of honorary doctorate degrees to former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and two others.
The UNICAL VC also confirmed that the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari is to speak “The Leadership and Followership Question In Nigeria – Imperative of Reorientation.”
