UN roads safety week: Bauchi Regular, Special Marshalls pay visit to crash victims at Specialists hospital

Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) comprising Regular and Special Marshall on Saturday, paid sympathy visit to Specialists Hospital, Bauchi where they wished crash victims well. 

The visit was in compliance with the UN Road Safety Week program which ends tomorrow, Sunday with Church service at ECWA Goodnews Church, Rafin-Zurfi, Bauchi to pray for all crash victims.  

The leader of delegation, DCC Mohammed B. Bature who equally is the Sector Head of Operations (SHOPS), sympathized with the Crash victims on the pains they are presently go through. 

He made it point blank that most of those crashes were avoidable if they, the passengers will live up to their duties of being abreast of required knowledge on using the road. 

He went further to say that 70% of crashes that occur in this part of the country were as a result of over speeding which the passengers have the right to caution the drivers so that they will all arrive safely, healthily and alive.

On his part, the State Coordinator, Special Marshall, Dr. Kunle Gbadamosi who was represented by the PEO, SM Mukaila Adeyemi enjoined the victims to become Ambassadors of road safety after coming out of the hospital.

He stressed that they should always encourage the use of Seat Belt and must always caution the drivers on the dangers of Over speeding, overloading and dangerous overtaking. 

Kunle Gbadamosi added that, they must always observe the expiry dates on the tyres of any vehicle they are boarding to prevent the issue of tyre burst. 

The State Coordinator then prayed for their speedy recovery assuring that the FRSC will continue to do everything possible to make the roads safer.

Various relief items including treated water, bottled water, toiletries and other things were presented to the patients who were appreciative of the kind gesture extended to them.
