A frontline governing council member of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, (NSUK), Bar. Labaran Shaibu Magaji has expressed delight at the spate of academic excellence, NSUK is attaining at the global space. He stated this while speaking to journalists at the 7th Convocation of the University held on Saturday, at the Convocation Arena of NSUK. He said, for the university to attract serious global hot-cake scholars like Professor Brunon Holyst, a renowned Professor of Criminology, Victimology and Criminalistics Psychology, who is the Director, Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology, Warsaw Management University, Poland is an indication that the university has attained an enviable global height in terms of academic excellence and recognition. Prof. Brunon alongside Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, who is a former Nigeria’s Ambassador to United Nation were conferred with doctorate degree (Honoris Causa) at the 7the Convocation of the University.“This is one thing that other institutions are trying to put together but are finding it difficult to achieve. As you can see, despite the ongoing transition programme, the governing council has still put up this event, attracting those who are directly involved in the transition programme. Yet, they are still here to honor the programme of the university. We that God for He has lifted this university to this international height” he noted.Bar. Magaji is elated at the leadership dexterity displays by the Vice Chancellor of the NSUK, Professor Bala Mohammed. He said accountability, transparency and sustainability of the ideals of the founding fathers of the university has manifested in sprouting of critical infrastructural development in the university.The 7th Convocation of NSUK awarded PhD to governors elect of Sokoto and Taraba States among other dignitaries.
