Here is Hon. Baido’s full statement to Senator Akume.

Felicitation on appointment as Secretary to the Government of the Federation

Distinguished Senator George Akume,

Congratulations on your appointment as Secretary to the Government of the Federation

I register my warm felicitations on your appointment by President Bola Tinubu to the esteemed position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF).

This is no mean feat as it reposes the confidence and ability the President has in your capability to hold position of responsibility.

I recall your successful tenure as the Executive Governor of Benue State serving two terms from 1999-2007 and the state peacefully developed as well as your able leadership as the Senate Minority Leader.

Your recent tenure as Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs was no less successful as attest to your achievements within your schedules.

As the SGF, a key and important position in the government, I urge you to be steadfast and discharge your duty to the best of your ability and to carry everyone along, a trait you are known for.

I pray for guidance of the Almighty God to protect you in the discharge of your duty.

Once again, congratulations.

Hon. Danladi Baido
