Suspected political thugs in Gadau, main campus of Sa’adu Zungur University in Bauchi State attached and stabbed one of the students, Safiyanu Adamu.
The development has therefore thrown the students community to now live in palpable fear following what has been described as incessant attacks by the hoodlums who are suspected to be the remnants of political urchins popularly known as ‘Sara-Suka‘ in Bauchi state.
It was reliably gathered that the thugs have continued to unleash terror attacks on the students, snatching their phones, laptops and other valuables just as they got their victim injured in a few instances.
On Saturday, there was pandemonium in the University town of Gadau in Itas/Gadau Local Government Area of the state when one of the students was attacked and stabbed by one of the thugs inflicting a serious injury on his right hand.
Reports from the area had it that the victim is a Bio-Chemistry student of the University whose is simply given as Safiyanu Adamu.
It was reported that the student had an altercation while playing a football match between Green-White-Green House and GT House which led a physical combat between them.
Adamu while speaking on his Hospital bed in Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare, alleged that during the match, one person called ‘Lado’ went to their house and brought two knives with which he stabbed him (Safiyanu) on his hand which resulted to the serious injury.
It was reported that students that were bold enough to stay around joined other good Samaritan to rescue and took him to the Gadau General Hospital for emergency treatment but they were asked to produce a Policeman before he could be attended to.
Reports have it that they eventually brought a Policeman before the Hospital could give him a first aid treatment after he had lost a volume of blood, the Gadau Hospital could not treat the hand because of the degree of the cut, they therefore refered him to the Federal Medical Center Azare for further and better treatment.
Some of the students who spoke to journalists, alleged that the issue of thuggery, phone snatching and other crimes have become alarming in Gadau town in recent times especially following the conclusion of the 2023 General elections.

They are therefore beginning the state government, security agencies and School authorities to urgently address the problems before it gets out of hand which may eventually lead to reprisals by the students community.
The students said that the unabated actions of the thugs and other miscreants have instilled fears in them as well as other residents of the town.
When contacted before this report, the State Command PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili said that he will contact the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area over incident before he will get back to the journalists.
However, a Policeman in Gadau confided in journalists that the Police is making frantic efforts to curtail the incident from degenerating into violence as the students community is gearing up for reprisal any moment from now.
He said that the efforts of the Police is paying as peace has finally returned to the community and the town as everything is said to have returned to normal.
